It is with great sadness that I was given the news of the passing of my lifelong friend in magic,
James Sherrill. He passed away at 57 years of age on Saturday, July 22, 2006.
James in recent years was the resident magician at Sea World Orlando. Apparently (as reported to me) he went
into the hospital to check out some pains he was having and it was discovered he had undetected cancer.
He passed away a week later.
James was one-of-a-kind and will be missed by many. He could have been one of the giants in the industry,
but that was not like James. He chose his quiet, unassuming life in the manner that reflected his kindness
and personality. His talent and abilities were way beyond anyone I have seen. But more importantly,
he was a trusted friend I could always count on (of the few I can count on one hand).
Rest in peace my friend...
The above photo of James was taken while he was under contract at Universal Studios Florida (Orlando).
We produced it together for use on the convention corporate circuit in the late 80's through the 1990's.
